Movement Review: Kinetic Data – Vertical Jump

A movement review is an excellent touch point to see exactly what DARI can collect and to better understand its importance in your motion health!

During a vertical jump you can review a variety of information. It is one of the most researched and data driven movements in human performance. One of those subsets of information is kinetics.

WIth a DARI system you will have access to force magnitudes inside our force plate simulator. As long as the person is captured in the motion systems volume you will have signals for both legs. It is like having 50-100 force plates in your space.

From this synchronized kinematic and kinetic data DARI will provide inverse dynamics results for you to review. Joint torques represented as percentage of body weight are ready for your analysis.

You can review both takeoff and landing mechanics related to force production and joint stress with a DARI system!

Kinetics can be the most important information when reviewing a vertical jump. You can find this information and more inside DARI.

To go deeper, DARI is always looking at new ways to review kinetics. From force, torques, and impulses. Our goal is to provide the most relevant kinetic information for your review.

Improving My Health To Start The New Year.

With new year resolutions started up related to fitness we want to look at two unique examples about what it means to get screened and have a DARI baseline.

Jason
When came into my fitness facility to start the new year I saw this new device. I was intrigued with what I saw and asked to learn more about it. What I found out from my personal trainer was that this DARI system could help track my motion health and identify my problem areas and creating a vision to my motion health. After a 3 minute movement test I found out my Motion Age was 25 years younger than my birth age! I am 55 years old and I am moving like I’m 25 years old. I couldn’t be happier with the work I have put in so far. It made all that work worth it. Now, I have a new plan to attack with this confidence.

Grant
I saw this device when I walked into a training facility. With the new year I wanted to start off on the right foot and improve my health and fitness. I noticed some people getting tested and I wanted to see how I measured up. After just a few minutes I found out that my Readiness was 54%. I was right in the middle of the pack and I am only 6% away from my first goal. Today, I was able to not just decided to improve my health, but actually have a plan that helped me on my needs. Not just me guessing.

Movement Review: Alignment Data – Shoulder Abduction

A movement review is an excellent touch point to see exactly what DARI can collect and to better understand its importance in your motion health!

During shoulder abduction the goal is to move your hands above your head. In everyday tasks, like picking a can of soap off the top shelf in your pantry, this movement can be useful. The trick is to be able to understand the impact of how you get your hand above your head, which is important to your motion health.

For example, when reaching your hand above your head you can perform different movements at your shoulder and elbow joint to achieve that goal. Some people will raise their arm with their shoulder directly vertical, while some people move their elbow forward in front of their face. Additionally, some will keep their elbow locked while others bend their elbow to move their hand more directly above their head.

These simple, subtle, differences can impact your joints long term health; weakening muscle and wearing joints down in areas they were not designed for. These small mishaps that result in poor alignment are the data DARI provides for evaluation.

Taking hundreds of variables related to human movement and making it actionable is how DARI provides movement insights for your health!
